Universal Pre-Kindergarten

Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) is a FREE program, sponsored by a grant at the district level. In order to be eligible, children must be age 4 by December 1 of the current school year and must be a resident of the Pal-Mac School District.

The district funds a certain number of slots per year. If more children apply than there are slots for, a lottery will take place. Children not selected will be placed on a waiting list. Additional slots may come available throughout the school year.

Interested families must apply through the district office and will be notified of their acceptance. If accepted, the district pays tuition on your behalf. If an applicant is not chosen and is put on a waiting list, Creative Environment may be able to offer the family an opportunity to pay privately until such time as the district opens a spot for them.

The UPK program follows the Pal-Mac School calendar. All Lead Teachers are NYS certified in Early Childhood Education.

Bussing may be available through the district, depending on your location.

The program begins at 8:45 A.M. and is dismissed at 11:45 A.M.

UPK is a Kindergarten readiness program that focuses on social skills such as learning to follow directions, work with peers in small and large groups, and to take turns. We also work on cognitive skills like letters, numbers, shapes and colors! We're sure your child will find CECLC just the right place to begin school!
